We are looking for 1 new Medior Sales Development Representative (SDR) to help us develop leads from scratch.

What's the job?

We are looking for 1 Medior Sales Development Representative (SDR) to play a key role in our growing sales team. Your job focuses on one of our solutions in which you develop sales qualified leads from scratch (outbound). This means you have to start a conversation and provoke a decision maker into action and close on a call-to-action such as attending an online demo or scheduling a meeting with your sales team members. In this function, you will report to our Head of Sales and work closely with our marketing team, MDRs and customer success managers.

A bit about us

Open Social empowers people by providing an open-source platform to build online communities of like-minded individuals. Replacing traditional intranets, Open Social fuels bottom-up innovation within organizations.

Early versions of our offering have won the prestigious Dutch Interactive Awards. The project, Greenpeace Greenwire, helps more than 100 000 Greenpeace volunteers bring positive change to the world around the globe. In The Netherlands alone, the software increased volunteering by 600%.

We offer our software in different versions: a free open-source distribution, a fully maintained software-as-a-service, and an enterprise edition. It's built with the platform Drupal, a web technology for creating ambitious digital experiences and has more than a hundred thousand active contributors worldwide. With ambitious new plans in our product roadmap, we aim to decouple our software’s front-end and back-end and create a more customizable and flexible headless platform.

The project is developed by a team of 30 people in The Netherlands and remote across Europe. Our offices are based in Amsterdam & Enschede.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop and implement our scalable outbound sales strategy
  • Outreach to potential clients through various campaigns such as e-mail (incl. video), cold calling, and social media
  • You attend the first meetings with possible clients together with our Account Executive. This way you enhance your knowledge about our product and our clients. You can use this knowledge to develop yourself as an Account Executive, so there is a lot of space to work on your career path!
  • Understand how Open Social can help solve your potential clients’ pain points and help them with insights to get educated in their journey with us
  • Be as creative as possible to get in touch with potential clients. Feel free to be unique :)
  • Discover new market opportunities and solutions, and thus test those markets
  • Work with the marketing team to improve the effectiveness of our campaigns and get you the sales tools you need
  • Work with our product teams to make sure our product and roadmap matches the needs of your customers

The experience you bring to the team

You have a bachelor's degree (or higher). It is a plus if you have 1+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS sales setting. You speak English fluently and have strong communication skills. You have the ability to seamlessly work with marketers, salespeople, and engineers. You are able to self-manage and take initiative. We expect you to have experience with:

  • Outbound B2B SaaS sales in SDR role or equivalent
  • Sales tools such as Pipedrive, Hubspot or equivalent
  • Creating eye-catching video/blog posts to build our thought leadership

And you get bonus points when you have experience with/in (nice-to-haves)

  • Tools to scale our outbound efforts, such as Vidyard
  • Open-source software
