We are Open Social. We develop online community software (think: your own private Facebook platform) that helps organizations like Greenpeace and the United Nations fulfill their missions.

Open Social is growing fast! Because of the recent 1.25M euro investment from Peak Capital and Nimbus Ventures, we are growing our position and accelerating our rapid growth in Europe and the US. That's why we are looking for 2 new Account Executives that speak English fluently and that support our growth ambitions. Together with our SDR and MDR colleagues, you will structurally target specific markets and territories to generate new leads. As an Account Executive at Open Social you are responsible to give demonstrations and grow our business.

What's the job?

We are looking for an Account Executive to play a key role in our sales team. You are the one that we are looking for to take prospects through the customer journey and close the deal. 

You will be responsible for demonstrating Open Social to prospects, liaise with IT, Communications and Legal teams in order to close the deal and start the onboarding which is done by our Customer Success team. When it becomes very technical you can rely on our Tech Sales Engineer. 

Besides this you will be responsible to run your own show, meaning updating our CRM, keep track of your own deal- & workflows. The entrepreneurial spirit will be key. 

You will be part of the Sales Team where you mainly closely work with your MDR & SDR colleagues. But you will also work closely with the Customer Success & Marketing. Do you accept this challenge 💪🏻?

A bit about us

Open Social empowers people by providing an open-source platform to build online communities of like-minded individuals. Replacing traditional intranets, Open Social fuels bottom-up innovation within organizations.

Early versions of our offering have won the prestigious Dutch Interactive Awards. The project, Greenpeace Greenwire, helps more than 100 000 Greenpeace volunteers bring positive change to the world around the globe. In The Netherlands alone, the software increased volunteering by 600%.

We offer our software in different versions: a free open-source distribution, a fully maintained software-as-a-service, and an enterprise edition. It's built with the platform Drupal, a web technology for creating ambitious digital experiences and has more than a hundred thousand active contributors worldwide. With ambitious new plans in our product roadmap, we aim to decouple our software’s front-end and back-end and create a more customizable and flexible headless platform.

The project is developed by a team of 25 people in The Netherlands and remote across Europe. Our office is based on the old market square in the middle of Enschede.

Your responsibilities

  • Managing the entire sales cycle from finding a potential client to securing a deal
  • Unearthing new sales opportunities through networking and turning them into long-term partnerships
  • Present Open Social to prospective clients
  • Negotiate agreements and keep records of sales and data

The experience you bring to the team

  • Track record of selling SaaS software deals and quota achievement

  • Build relationships with customers through all phases of the sales cycle, identify and care for customer needs
  • Ability to close opportunities
  • Work together with the team (SDR & MDR) to acquire net new customers
  • Build, grow pipeline and maintain your forecast
  • Work closely with our Customer Success Team as well as our Marketing team

And you get bonus points when you:

  • Have at least one year of experience in a similar (AE) role

  • Have strong communication skills (both verbally and in writing) and are fluent in English (Dutch is not required)
  • Are results-driven, energetic, and able to motivate yourself to hit your targets
  • Understand various stages of typical solution sales cycle
  • Have experience with Pipedrive or similar CRM tools preferred
  • Have entrepreneurial mindset, self-motivated, accountable approach, combined with strong sense of teamwork
